Mark Gonzales is an American artist and professional skateboarder renowned for his significant contributions to the development of street skateboarding since the mid-1980s. His innovative approach to skateboarding, utilizing urban architecture like handrails, stairs, and ledges for new tricks, reflects his creative outlook. This creativity extends to his artwork, which includes surreal and humorous characters illustrated in zines. Gonzales has collaborated on projects with notable figures like Harmony Korine and Spike Jonze.

Born on June 1, 1968, in South Gate, CA, Gonzales began skateboarding at age 13 and founded Blind Skateboards in 1989. Alongside his skateboarding career, he started drawing in his free time and created graphics for Krooked Skateboards. His collaborations span across various brands, including Supreme and Adidas. Currently, Gonzales' work is on view at the Brooklyn Museum, where 40 of his zines are featured in the show "Copy Machine Manifestos: Artists Who Make Zines." He lives and works in New York.
